Norsechem (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. (NCSSB) was established on 13 March 1980 as a joint venture between Permodalan Bumiputra Sabah (PBSB), which holds 60 per cent equity, and Hexza Corporation Berhad (HCB), which has 40 per cent. PBSB is a Sabah Government agency, while HCB is a publicly listed company on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia.
On 6 June 1996, Innoprise Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (ICSB), The Group’s investment arm acquired 51 per cent of the company’s shares. The current ownership structure consists of ICSB at 51 per cent, PBSB at 29.4 per cent, and HCB at 19.6 per cent.
NCSSB specialises in manufacturing formaldehyde and various types of resin for the woodworking industries in Sabah. The company’s formaldehyde plant has a production capacity of 33,000 MT per year at a 37 per cent concentration, while the resin plant produces 43,680 MT annually. The factory is located at Jalan Batu Sapi, Karamunting, Sandakan.
Additionally, NCSSB is a registered dealer of urea for Petronas Chemical Group Berhad and supplies the urea requirements for the Yayasan Sabah Group.
